In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Southlake; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in Texas are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 11 am–9:30 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (817) 912-1788. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is dragonhousetx.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.3 out of 5 from 1,992 reviews, which is a strong result for a chinese restaurant in Southlake and suggests consistent service.

Southlake is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Getting around Southlake is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Texas's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Dragon House was a hit! Customer service was casual, nothing special, but even though they were pretty busy, my order came out fast. I ordered the General Tso’s chicken with light sauce, fried rice, and green beans. The green beans weren’t very good, but that chicken was PHENOMENAL! The light sauce coated the chicken perfectly, it seemed to be white meat, and some pieces had a really nice crunch. The fried rice was absolutely delicious too. Definitely a place I’ll be back to!

I’ve been to Dragon House many timesβ€”it’s my go-to spot for Peking duck, honeycomb dumplings, and several other dishes. My only issue during this visit was with the hostess. She asked how many were in our party but never took our name down, which led to a few groups being seated ahead of us. I eventually had to ask another employee, who properly added us to the list. Aside from that, the food was delicious as always, and the waitstaff were super friendly. Still a great spot overall!

We have been looking for some Asian cuisine and we found it. The food was awesome, service was perfect and the atmosphere was totally unexpected. We were there early enough for lunch and caught the tailed of the rush. Do not let the exterior or the fact that their is a drive thru fool you this place is perfect. Although I did not drink here, I believe I saw a nicely stocked bar. Next time I go I will need to add some spice to my meal. Just my thing. Wait there was one negative, the egg roll was not the best. But the egg drop soup and shrimp with homemade noodles and fried rice a win win win!

Their lunch special is a great deal! We ordered the vegetable Lo mein noodles, Mongolian beef, and pork & shrimp soup dumplings. Everything was delicious, with the Mongolian beef being my favorite. The only downside was that the vegetable portion in the Lo mein felt a bit less generous, especially since we chose vegetables as its protein option. Overall, a great experience, and our server, May, was very attentive and patient.

This was our 2nd choice in Chinese food because our 1st choice ran out of several items. Dragon House had a 30 to 45 minute wait for a table inside but had immediate seating outside. It was cold out but we agreed to sit on the patio. Waiter suggested the hot jasmine tea which helped stave off the cold temperature. It was delicious but only helped slightly. For appetizers we ordered dumplings and wantons. The dumplings were amazing, the wantons were really good. For my entree I had the Kung pao beef, it was good too. Overall the experience will be remembered how cold I was and my finger tips going numb. If I was guaranteed to be able to sit inside next time, I would visit again. I would recommend Dragon House to people just don't sit on the patio when the weather is cold. God bless kdub out.
